"The spate of ATM robberies and attempted robberies all across County Antrim are preventable. Northern Ireland has seen a series of these attacks all across the country. From Fermanagh to Antrim and clearly criminals are involved in copycat theft attacks.
I believe preventable measures are possible. For example where there is no CCTV, the ATM owners, the banks, should install CCTV as a priority. Secondly all ATM machines should be fitted with an electronic tracking device and finally all ATM machines should have die inside them that if disrupted sprays onto the money rendering it useless to the robbers.
Such a strategy should be put in place as a priority for Northern Ireland's ATM machines."
